Mission Statement
To encourage the play, networking, and team building of military past and present, to include military families, and grow the sport of hockey. Our brand is one that continues to represent the name on the front of our jerseys, not the one on the back. We welcome players of all backgrounds and skill levels, all ranks and ages, and from every spectrum of public service. We aim to build lasting relationships on and off the ice, and we are confident we have a place for everyone. If you are new to the Luke AFB area, new to hockey, or are a military veteran or first-responders just discovering our club, we would enjoy welcoming you into the fold.
STORY
The Luke Air Force Base region, Phoenix, AZ is a somewhat unexpected hotbed for hockey talent. With 6 hockey facilities within at 45 mile radius, over 4,000 permanent personnel assigned to the 56th Fighter Wing, along a conglomeration of retirees, and a melting pot of US Service Member backgrounds, we are primed to build a competitive, fun-filled, group of hockey players. From creation in January 2017, the organization has grown to over 104 registered players from across three branches of service, dependents, retirees, and DoD employees. We currently call AZ Ice Peoria our home and participate in four Adult Recreational Divisions with as many teams. We have proudly represented Luke AFB in Armed Services Tournaments in Las Vegas, NV and Minneapolis, MN, and interacted with the hockey community across the Phoenix region.
